Air, Electricity, Water, No Moving Parts: optimal concept for RTM & SQRTM Press.
Pneumatic Press with Electrical Heating
All presses designed and fabricated by Coexpair or Radius Engineering consist of three main structural parts: upper bolster, lower bolster and platen base. The upper and lower bolsters are connected together in a near parallel position. Pneumatic hoses running the length of the press support the platen base. Tooling is then positioned on the platen base. The pneumatic hoses are filled with air, forcing the platen base and tooling against the upper bolster. This creates the clamping action. « Daylight », or the space between the platens which accepts the tooling can be adjusted two ways, manually, by hand, or mechanically, by use of motor-driven screw jack actuators. Manual Daylight Adjustment is used for high production applications, where daylight is not changed often. Mechanically Adjusted Daylight is used for applications with short run production or development, where Daylight is frequently changed.Presses usually include handling equipment for transferring tools into or out of a press, (« tool transfer »), and can optionally be fitted with equipment for opening and closing tools. Shuttle carts for moving tools (or molds) around a manufacturing facility can also be provided. A control system is included with each press, this creates a workstation. The control system will monitor and control the heat zones, as well as monitor the clamping pressure. Data acquisition can optionally be included in a control system as well as an interface to a customer’s computer network.
